announced the latest release of its popular intranet
document publishing software, Net-It Central 5.0.
Used by hundreds of companies and
government agencies worldwide - such as ChevronTexacoTexaco,
SBC, Bank of America, and the United Nations - Net-It
Central provides push-button intranet publishing of many
different document types, including spreadsheets, memos,
illustrations and presentations (including animations)
to any desktop browser without the need to install
client software or plug-ins. Microsoft Office, Word
Perfect, Visio, Lotus/IBM and MathCAD file formats are
among those supported by Net-It Central. The software
can be installed, configured and deployed in less than a
day. Operating in a standard browser and honoring
firewall and encryption security, Net-It Central

Designated users of desktop
applications can publish their native files to a Net-It
Central intranet site with one simple operation.
Documents are delivered for viewing through a thin
browser applet, enabling office format documents to be
reviewed regardless of the operating system or whether
the corresponding desktop application is installed.
The new 5.0 version features additions
that come in direct response to customer feedback and
include:
- Enhanced template customization
features.
- Priority publishing, which allows
managers to contribute high priority document content
immediately or perform an overall site update on
demand, or at scheduled intervals.
- Set site or document
start/expiration dates. Site content or specific
documents can be automatically archived to a specific
location or deleted.
- Windows and Office XP support.
- Tighter integration to Microsoft
IIS security functions for user authentication.
