Net-It Central 5.5
Popular, Easy-to-use
Intranet Publishing Software Features Improved Document "Contributor" Functions, Fidelity
PHOENIX, Arizona July
11, 2002 -- Informative Graphics Corporation (IGC), a
leader in Web-document and collaboration technology,
announces the latest release of its popular intranet
document publishing software, Net-It Central 5.5.
Used by hundreds of
companies and government agencies worldwide - such as
DuPont Photomask, the United States Army and Air Force,
Bank of America, and the United Nations - Net-It Central
provides push-button intranet publishing of many
different document types, including spreadsheets, memos,
illustrations and presentations (including animations)
to any desktop browser without the need to install
client software or plug-ins. Microsoft Office, Word
Perfect, Visio, Lotus/IBM and MathCAD file formats are
among those supported by Net-It Central. The software
can be installed, configured and deployed in less than a
day. Operating in a standard browser and honoring
firewall and encryption security, Net-It Central
provides document managers the easiest out-of-the-box
intranet publishing tool available today.
"Before Net-It Central,
we loaded our email system with huge attachments, relied
on FTP sites for downloads, and needed programmers to do
HTML conversions," said DuPont Photomask Webmaster Devon
Johnston, who designed their corporate intranet and
oversees its management. "Today the system runs itself.
It's a core element of our global communications
infrastructure that provides tremendous productivity and
cost benefits."
"With Net-It Central
we're able to get the word out faster and more reliably
than ever to the people who need it," said U.S. Army
Cadet Command Center Webmaster Sherman Jones. "We're
able to be more responsive without increasing our
workload, and our users know the information they need
will always be fresh and available. It's a great
productivity booster and money saver." Jones estimates
Net-It Central saves the Cadet Command more than
$140,000 per year in reproduction, postage and salary
costs.
"Net-it Central gave us
good value from day one," said Brian Comnes, Director of
Technology Services at GATX, a Chicago-based financial
services company. "A small technical web publishing team
can leverage the local subject matter expertise of
business unit experts, but not burden them with the need
to become local web publishing technicians. With minimal
training, business employees can be immediately
productive. It has paid for itself many times over. With
Net-it Central we've been able to keep our production
costs in line and extend the reach of our intranet deep
into the organization."
"Our customers say it all
for us", said Gary Heath, CEO at IGC. "Using Net-It
Central is not only about deploying proven technology,
it's about providing solutions that give return on
investment in multiples. With Net-It Central we've
proven we can deliver both. It's the simple way to
distribute document content downstream without having to
make huge infrastructure and long-term investments " he
added.
Designated users of
desktop applications can publish their native files to a
Net-It Central intranet site with one simple operation.
Documents are delivered for viewing through a thin
browser applet, enabling office format documents to be
reviewed regardless of the operating system or whether
the corresponding desktop application is installed. The
new 5.5 version features additions that come in direct
response to customer feedback and include:
- Contributor Wizard -
Add multiple documents, delete documents and add
metadata to documents using the new, more intuitive
